Great Publicity

On Friday, I was chuffed to see that the Bury Free Press newspaper ran a full-page article on me and the book.

Although I had sent them a press release telling them all about the book and some of the more prominent characters that feature in it (who came from West Suffolk), I expected a few columns only – not a full page which was great!

The reporter from the newspaper rung me up a few days before and asked me a few questions, mainly about my interest in the Suffolk Regiment and how I became interested. I told him of my grandfather and his service with the 4th Battalion and how I came to be involved in the Old Comrades Association.

It’s great to see him mentioned in the article and the articles sparked much interest in the Suffolk Regiment’s old Depot town. Hopefully the story of the Suffolk Regiment is becoming more widely known after years in the shadows.
