A Rare Public Appearance

Very rarely do I undertake any form of public speaking as despite my outward appearance, I’m quite a shy person, but at the recommendation of a very old friend, I was persuaded tonight to give a talk on the history of the Suffolk Regiment to the ‘Suffolk Family History Society.’

Trying to tell the history of the ‘Old Twelfth’ in an hour is impossible - and I massively overran by some 45 minutes!!! but I think it was well received and despite some daunting questions afterwards, I’m pleased I mustered the courage to do it.

However the stress of getting ready for it was such that I’ll definitely not volunteer to do it again for some considerable time!
