After an excellent visit to meet the new curator of the Suffolk Regiment Museum on Tuesday, it was all systems go for for the launch of the book on the 4th May, but now everything has been overtaken by the unfolding coronavirus pandemic that is sweeping across the world.
Unfortunately with our surviving 1/Suffolk veterans being all over 90 years old and in self-isolation, it will be impossible to hold the launch with them until the pandemic has passed. It is disappointing but there will be a way around it. Maybe the launch will have to be later on this year, but I’m not downhearted. As the Battalion Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel R.E. Goodwin said on D-Day “Bash On!”
