Saturday was a red letter day for me. Having gone into Ipswich to do some shopping, whilst passing Waterstones, I spotted my book in the window! Upon going inside, there was just one copy left on the ‘Bestselling Non-Fiction’ shelf. Clearly sales are on the up.
I honestly didn’t think that it would ever get into shops, especially in view of the current situation. I naturally assumed that most people now buy new books online or via Amazon, so to see copies in the flesh and being brought up, made me very happy. It’s a weird sensation to see ones work ‘in the wild’ for the first time and it feels good to see a volume about the Suffolk Regiment back on bookshelves. As Colonel Dick Goodwin once said “Up the Twelfth!”
